Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

Baseball season is upon us again. It always surprises me how quickly it sneaks up on us. Xander had tryouts on March 12th and Josh had tryouts on March 17th. The were each moving up to a new age group this year.

Xander is going to be on the Astros (the same team Josh was on for the last 2 years). Xander also has his coach from last year, Jason. He is a great coach and really recognizes just how hard Xander listens and tries. Jason mentioned how improved Xander has gotten just since last year. Which of course made Xander grin ear to ear. He has been practicing with Josh and wants to be a baseman again this year.

Josh has moved up to the Babe Ruth league. Which means he will get to travel around Salt Lake County and play other teams in his age bracket. Josh made in on the Blue Jays this year. His coach is great and demands respect from the players. Which is very important when dealing with a bunch of 13 year old boys. Josh is going to have the opportunity to pitch this year. He is over the moon about this development. I think it has been his dream to pitch for a couple of years now. This year that dream is coming true.

Baseball is already taking up a good chunk of our time. The season begins on April 4th and the teams are practicing hard to get ready. We have practice almost every day of the week. Thankfully last week's weather cooperated and it was lovely to sit at the park with the boys. This week is not shaping up to be the same. I am sure I will be spending a lot of time in my heated car.

  1. Wow that's so cool. We are definetly not baseball players in this house. I signed Susan up for softball when she was younger (about 3 or 4). I told her she had to run to third base. She got mad at me because she was "talking to a cute boy" on second. Oh my lovely daughter-- what am I going to do-lol. That's so cool that your boys are so athletic.
